About The School & Teaching Approach
Founded in 1951, the École de Psychologues Praticiens trains qualified psychologists on its campuses in Paris and Lyon. Through a recognised, professionally oriented curriculum, The School supports students in preparing for their future careers.
The School’s programme is structured over five years. After completing three years of a common core curriculum, students specialise in one of the following two pathways:
- Integrative Clinical Psychology and Psychopathology;
- Social Psychology Applied to Work, Organisations, and Occupational Health.
By joining The School as an exchange student, you will become part of close-knit cohorts and learn from lecturers who are practitioners and researchers recognised in their fields. Unless otherwise stated, you may enrol in courses across different year levels. Most courses are taught in French, but a selection of courses is also available in English.
For further information about admission and integration procedures, the International Office is available to answer any questions you may have.
Our International Students Share Their Experiences
Our international students regularly share their journeys and experiences at the École de Psychologues Praticiens. Discover their stories and perspectives through our YouTube channel and a selection of dedicated articles.
Coming to France
Administrative Procedures & Practical Information
Visa: Non-European Union Students
As exchange stays in France lasting more than three months require a long-stay visa equivalent to a residence permit (VLS-TS), students from outside the European Union must obtain this visa before their arrival.
This visa is subject to mandatory validation procedures upon arrival in France. To help you with these steps, please consult the official France-Visas and Campus France portals.
Social Security & Healthcare
Students from the EU
You must bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC), which should be requested from your home country’s health insurance provider before your departure. It allows you to access healthcare services in France without prior registration.
Non-European Students
Registration with the French national health insurance system is free and mandatory in order to receive reimbursement for healthcare expenses. For broader coverage, taking out supplementary health insurance (mutuelle) is strongly recommended.
Registration is completed online via etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr, using your school enrolment certificate, passport, and visa.
Canadian Students (Québec Residents)
Thanks to bilateral agreements, you are entitled to healthcare coverage in France by presenting the SE 401-Q-106 or SE 401-Q-102 forms.
For further information, please consult the dedicated page on Campus France.
Accommodation
The École de Psychologues Praticiens does not have its own student residences. However, our students have guaranteed access to the online platform MyApart by Adele to help them find accommodation. We also encourage you to explore the offers available on the French government’s dedicated housing platform.
French Language Courses (FLE)
To improve your French language skills, French as a Foreign Language (FLE) courses are offered through the Institut de Langue et de Cultures Françaises (ILCF) or the Alliance Française, depending on your campus. A placement test is organised beforehand to determine the appropriate course level.
These courses allow students to earn ECTS credits and receive an official certificate upon completion.
University Library & Student Services
As a student at the École de Psychologues Praticiens, you have full access to the university library, where you can borrow materials, consult academic databases, and use photocopying facilities.
Your student card also provides access to numerous discounts, including reduced fares for transport, cultural institutions, and museums.
